March is for MonSters

 -

March is MS awareness month!! Please do all you can to get information out regarding research that is ongoing to find a cure for this terrible disease. For me and my family, EVERY month is MS awareness months. The Coeur d’Alene MS walk this year is combined with the Spokane event, the date is April 26th. Below is the link to the team page that we have formed. If you want to attend the walk, just register for the team (no donation is required, but is very much appreciated-all donations go directly to the National MS Society to help fund research) and let me know your shirt size. We are going to have a good turnout again this year, if you do donate any amount through the team page you will be eligible to win one of the many event prizes from our sponsors. Here is that link: http://main.nationalmssociety.org/goto/Walk_This_Way_2020

Thanks everyone for reading this and spreading the word.

Much love and respect.

Human Ant Farm

 -

Everytime I see this view, it reminds me of an ant farm I had as a kid… I see this view practically every week and it seems like everyone here is always in such a hurry. I have come to the rapid realization that there are definitely more leaves on the ground than left on the tree for me, so now I just want to take a step back and try to absorb the things that mean the most to me and those close to me. I dont want to be one of the “ants” any longer but know I have to be for the short term. I know I haven’t posted in a long time, trying to get my lesion-addled brain around a few things to move on. Promise to do better, more for my self than anything else – I am not sure anyone is even still out there at times.

Much love and respect, fight on warriors!!

Day 2 (of 3)

 -

Day 2 of 3 is almost done for this round of infusions!! Really looking forward to this being done, too many things to do. Tomorrow should only be an hour instead of the 2 plus hour ones yesterday and today. Hope that everyone has a wonderful day and weekend.

Props to all the MonSter Warriors out there, keep the faith that a cure is found soon.

Long Morning

 -

It has been a really long morning, finally landed in Spokane about 12:30 this morning, had an MRI at 5:30 AM and am now on day 1 of this infusion round. Everyone at Northwest Specialty Imaging and Kootenai Health are really nice and seem to sincerely care about their patients. Two more days of infusions, am optimistic that this will help out.

Much love and respect!!

Chicago

 -

Not a good start to the trip to Chicago this week, crazy flare up, got to spend several hours with the doctors and nurses at Amita health. They were great, just wish I could get a handle on this MonSter I am battling. Or should I say that it is battling me (am worried that it is winning though)…

Take care, much love and respect.

Hey guys, wake the hell up!!

 -

Been through a lot of airports recently, and in the process of normal activity, have had the occasion to use the restroom at a few airports. Twice in the past few days I have encountered other people (I assume they they identified themselves as the same sex as me) preparing to get ready to use the urinal prior to the urinal being vacant. Yes, I was at the urinal when someone behind me in line was unzipping and fumbling around in preparation for a deploy. The only thing I have to say is STOP!!. This is the kind of shit that not only makes people uncomfortable but also gets someone’s ass kicked.

Need a line on the floor kind of like at the pharmacy that says “if you are before this line please do not make any moves that resemble preparation of using the urinal, this will prevent bodily harm”. Just saying…

Be well all you MS fighters out there!!

MonSter Walk

 -

Am putting a team together for the upcoming MS walk in beautiful CDA Idaho. The date is Saturday April 27th. Details are in the link below, please let me know if you want to be a member of the team. My initial goal right now is to raise $2,500 to support the efforts to find a cure for this horrible disease. I will provide shirts for team members that contribute $5 or more to our team goal.

If you choose not to attend or donate, I understand, good thoughts and prayers are always appreciated.

Link to the event is below, team information will be updated on this page when it is finalized with the MS group.

Nostalgic Morning

 -

Walking through the Spokane airport this morning, I got to thinking about the times I had been here when younger. There used to be a very large preserved Polar Bear. Yup, a big freaking white bear right out at the end of one of the concourses. I looked forward to it every time, even when I was older. I don’t remember the date when it was taken out, but it has been quite as while. Probably some group started a publicity campaign saying it was disrespectful towards polar bears so the airport got scared and pulled it. I wonder where it went, might be a web search later for that.

I guess I will have to find something to look forward to when coming here considering this is now my home airport!!!

Take care everyone, be safe out there!!

No Shave November!

 -

Started ‘No Shave November’ a little early this year. Not totally disliking the look, but could probably use a little tightening up. Could also use a lot less grey in it, but I guess grey comes along with age and wisdom – still working on the wisdom side of things.

Take care, be well.
